Women in tech and AI in Europe: Can the region close its gender gap?

McKinsey & Company’s article on women in tech and AI in Europe is an important reminder that the next steps we take now will matter for the future. The direction we choose will either help close the gender gap or widen it further. The pipeline is there: women are entering STEM education, but that is not enough on its own. What really matters is whether they also move into the tech workforce in greater numbers. Yet, women still hold only 13% of management roles in tech and just 8% of senior management positions, such as director and C-level roles. That is why the focus has to go beyond education and toward a more inclusive strategy overall.
